History

Geopolitical conditions of the last decade as extraordinary events in healthcare, formed a epistemology and experience in managing health crises.

Undoubtedly the 2004 Olympic Games are a springboard to launch the targeted interoperability to health services.

It is important that after the establishment of the National Health System in 1982, the first Health Units acquire a coordinating center operational nature for the implementation of sanitary coverage of the 2004 Olympic Games.

The Health Sector Coordinating Body (HSCB) is a reality for years to create a new generation of health scientists with a common single characteristic “the Operational Capacity Crisis Management in Health Sector”.

Greece is now at the beginning of the decade of 2010-2020, is to present the world experience in health enterprises nationwide, the participation in humanitarian aid and global nature of business.

The influenza pandemic of 2009 and the threat of Ebola virus in 2014, have been the highlights for rendering the most experienced executives in the moments highest risk of Public Health.

Writing business plans and algorithmic procedures for dealing with emergency situations with mass casualties in Healthcare is now a reality in a large number of groups and individuals engaged in public health.

In September 2014 a large number of university professors, specialized scientists, health professionals, military, health economists and other categories decided the establishment of the Greek Society of Hellenic Association on Crisis Management in the Health Sector.

The dream became reality with the decision of the Court of Athens.

Today our Association, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, participates in the organization of the accredited network of operational health centers (Emergency Operation Centers Network / WHO) worldwide.

In our area we exchange views and experiences through our conferences and our scientific meetings, bearing in mind the words of the poet Dante:

“The tree at the top and mushroom top Beyond”.
